Infinity's Music

Image
A poem dedicated to my dear friend Arati, for her birthday on 8th Jan 2021.  The number 8 represents standing infinity and the lines below are symbolic of her resilience as a person and her unconditional love for music.. 🎵 🎼 Infinity's Music 🎼 She had given up, lying down, with sadness abound, In sight, there wasn't a person, not even a sound, The first month of the year brought music along, She found a nest in her heart, that of a heartfelt song, Infinity stood up to embrace it and lo behold, she found, There was boundless hope, love and brightness all around.. She felt like she was born again, as now joy was all she could see, Caged by her thoughts for long, and music had finally set her free.. The music within her, had finally set her free..  ðŸ˜‡

A plate full of paani-puri and kindness..

Yesterday, after office, I took my wife and daughter out to a small Paani puri stall near my house. My daughter enjoys having dry puris. So when I requested the guy, he gave her two. While paying I gave him Rs 5 extra, which he refused to accept. He said "Sir, hum dono ek age ke hain. Aaj main aapke bacche ko de raha hun, kal koi mere bacche ko dega. (Sir, we are of the same age. Today, I am giving these to your kid, and someday, someone else will do the same for my kid)". And saying this, he gave two more to my daughter, who was delighted beyond words.. :) He told me that he works till 10:30 in the night at this stall, having dinner at 11:30 before working at a call center all night long, to earn more money for his family. He sleeps for just 3 hours every day. But the zeal and sparkle that this guy had in his eyes, with all this hard work and life style was just remarkable. I realized two things: People who help others probably are not the ones who have more than they n

A trip to God's own country.. :)

Wow!!! What a week it was. Can't remember the last time when I took a break for a week away from work, and such a refreshing one at that!!! And the place I visited? Kerala - God's own country. I know, I should be ashamed of the fact that in spite of belonging to the same state, I haven't been to all the great destinations Kerala has to offer. Well, I certainly made some amends last week. :) Stayed in Guruvayur for 2 days. There are many temples here, the most notable one being - The Guruvayur Temple. It is a sight to behold. The temple is asthetically very beautiful and is well equipped to manage the lakhs of devotees who visit it everyday. The deity here is Lord Shree Krishna - Guruvayurappan (the Lord of Guruvayur). The temple is a beautiful one and one just can't help avoid the beautiful feeling of being close to a supreme power, when you reach this place. This temple has a great history and has been a haven of faith for the people of Kerala for many generations. Sta

Keep smiling and keep going.. :)

The last few days have been quite demanding personally as well as professionally. Couldn't get much time to practice my guitar and work pressures have increased too. It's when things get hectic as this, that the "pessimistic philosopher" side of you starts working overtime. :) A few days back, I was just going through the newspaper and I happened to read about the heat wave that has taken Kerala by surprise, the surprising fact being that peak summer is yet to arrive. The temperature has already reached 43 degrees and people are finding it difficult to cope up with it. The farmers are fighting hard to save their crops and cope up with such extreme temperature at the same time. The same day I happened to visit my social networking profile and saw many photographs of beautiful places in Europe and US, posted by few of my friends who have been abroad from some time now. The world's a beautiful place. And it's been my long time ambition to visit all the beautiful

The power of Initiation

Hi Guys, it's been a while since I've blogged. Perseverance is a tough art, for sure. :) A very happy new year to you. I have always been a believer of keeping no new year resolutions. I love to be impulsive. It adds that extra zing to life. So this year, wasn't much different too. I watched some really inspirational movies recently (impulsively, off course). And boy, did it have any impact on me? Hell yeah!!! :) This morning, I just finished watching a movie called "Supersize me". It's kind of a documentary type movie, wherein an American guy with "above-average" health eats junk food for one complete month, and the proceedings capture all the ill-effects it has on his health. The fat he gains, the damage to his liver, heart, moods, overall well-being etc. I really recommend this movie to you, if you haven't watched it already. You'll start seeing Mc. Donald visits in a completely different light altogether, once you see how bad junk food ca

Translation for "Coffee Houser Shei" - Sung by Manna Dey

A morning walk...

5th October 2008 - A vibrant Monday morning Well, people have many reasons for a morning walk or a jog. Some do it as an exercise, some consider it as a stress buster, some do it just for fun and for some, it is all three packed together in a single activity. I fall in this category. Although it's really difficult to say a goodbye to the warm, cozy bed (especially when you know, you can spend a few more hours there), sometimes the returns are just as worthwhile. My morning walk normally takes me around one and a half hours, walking along the roads in Pimple Gurav and Sangvi (places adjacent to my home at Dapodi ). Although there are many morning enthusiasts who love walking in places with least disturbance from people or traffic, I love these 5-6 kms for just the opposite reason. I love it for the plethora of people and beautiful surroundings, which I find along the way. Today, 5:30 in the morning, began my first adventure of the day. It was dark when I started walking and the
