A plate full of paani-puri and kindness..
Yesterday, after office, I took my wife and daughter out to a small Paani puri stall near my house. My daughter enjoys having dry puris. So when I requested the guy, he gave her two. While paying I gave him Rs 5 extra, which he refused to accept. He said "Sir, hum dono ek age ke hain. Aaj main aapke bacche ko de raha hun, kal koi mere bacche ko dega. (Sir, we are of the same age. Today, I am giving these to your kid, and someday, someone else will do the same for my kid)". And saying this, he gave two more to my daughter, who was delighted beyond words.. :) He told me that he works till 10:30 in the night at this stall, having dinner at 11:30 before working at a call center all night long, to earn more money for his family. He sleeps for just 3 hours every day. But the zeal and sparkle that this guy had in his eyes, with all this hard work and life style was just remarkable.
